This competition entry for the International Center for Women Artists (ICWA) logo is intended to be a versatile and holistic expression of peace through art. It is feminine as well as sharp, bold and progressive, in celebration of creative and artistic genius of women across the globe.
A mix of blue and green, turquoise has a sweet feminine feel while being lively and sophisticated. The color turquoise is known in many cultures throughout the world to convey creativity, balance, fertility and peace.
The “W” in ICWA is comprised of two inverted triangles, the second triangle always a lighter tone of turquoise, in order to subtly highlight the inverted triangle as the ancient international symbol of water and femininity. The ICWA letterforms can also be filled with a variety of artwork and textures to represent the wide variety of artistic expression by celebrated women artists everywhere.
